In March 2020, amid all the uncertainty of COVID, I began planning our wedding for 2021. I had my heart set on a beach wedding, but travel wasn’t looking promising, and we didn’t want my fiancé’s 86-year-old grandmother making a long trip during the pandemic. I searched venue after venue, hoping to find that island feeling close to Connecticut. I was almost ready to let go of that dream and choose a downtown Hartford venue when I spoke with Kaydene. She listened to what I envisioned and suggested Water’s Edge. From the moment we toured it, I fell in love. An outdoor ceremony by the water, cocktails on a patio overlooking the beach, and a reception in a beautiful ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows and sunset views—it brought together everything I had been searching for. We secured our 2021 date and hoped restrictions would ease enough to celebrate with more of our loved ones. In the end, it turned out to be a beautiful day. Kaydene helped me see that I didn’t have to give up the wedding I imagined. Her thoughtful recommendation made such a difference, and I’m so grateful she pointed us toward a place that felt right for us.

I first met Kaydene when I was the President of the PTA at my son’s elementary school. I remember it because I was told she asked to bring back the school’s Variety Show, which I already knew was a huge job that took a very special person. When I watched her execute it the past few years, I knew she was special. Her organization, knowledge, and talent for this was what I’d expect from a professional, not a volunteer. Watching her in action as a volunteer, gives me a ton of confidence for how she’d turn out an event as a professional.
